**Topical anesthetic is best for partially anesthetizing the area for Microblading and Tattoo removal. Since both procedures are done superficially on the skin, topical anesthetic is best because it penetrates far enough through the epidermis and dermis for more of a comfortable experience. Diamond Crown & Brow uses Numb Master and Blue Gel topicals agents.
Factors to consider
Topical Anesthetic will leave behind an oily residue, which when left on the skin, will affect the consistency of the pigment. This could result in the pigment not penetrating deeply enough.
This is why it is important to make sure that all than anesthetic residue is thoroughly cleaned from the skin before beginning the procedure.
Once the skin is broken, a gel numbing agent will work best. It will also soothe the skin from the inside out and is used as a top up anesthetic. This will also reduce trauma and discomfort to your client.
The Two types anesthetic:
Local Anesthetic-which is used to anesthetize/block nerves. Used is Medical and Dental offices for surgery or procedures. One has to have higher level of a degree to administer local anesthetic such as Doctors and or certified and trained Nurses.
Topical anesthetic-mainly used for superficial areas of the skin to help lessen the pain but not completely numbing the pain. Can be found in an over the counter drug store. Topical anesthetic can come in different variations. Such as, Lidocaine and Tetracaine and or tetracaine and benzocaine.
The Three common Topical numbing agents used in Tattoo shops: Lidocaine, Tetracaine, Benzocaine,
Lidocaine- is a common over the counter anesthetic. Can be used as a Local Anesthetic or a topical. Great for everyone. Its the safest because this anesthetic the least of complications. The higher the percentage, the more effective the product will be.
Tetracaine– is another Local anesthetic and can be used as a topical.
Benzocaine-is mainly used as a topical gel.
Anesthetic main Ingredients:
Epinephrine, a common ingredient found in anesthetics, is a controversial ingredient because its a vasoconstrictor.
Vasoconstrictors cause the blood vessels to tighten up, therefore minimize bleeding and swelling during the microblading procedure. It can also cause the body not taking the pigment colorant completely.
How do we use the Topical Anesthetic on each Procedure?
Microblading
Before we start microblading we place Numb Master topical on the area. We allow it set for 20 minutes. That should be enough time to be absorbed into the skin. After the 20 minutes we remove the topical. Once we begin microblading and if the clients begin to feel any discomfort we then apply the Blue Gel topical. Blue gel is great for open skin and does not affect the pigment being absorbed into the skin.
Saline Tattoo removal
Even though in most, if not all, tattoo parlors do not place topicals here at DCB shop we do. Most peoples experience of their first tattoo is definitely memorable to say the least. Most people would rather not feel the pain of a tattoo again in the same spot. This is why we offer topical for comfortable experience. Similar to Microblading we let Numb Master take effect for 20 minutes and Depending on the client we can add Blue Gel during the procedure.
